In this first aid blog post we discuss two important heat related conditions – heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heatstroke occurs when the body fails to regulate its own temperature and body temperature continues to rise, often to 40°C (104°F) or higher. Heat exhaustion normally happens gradually. Working in high temperatures, medication and drugs (for example stimulants such as ecstasy) and lots of exercise can lead to overheating and dehydration.
